Justin Peterson was born and raised in the small Air Force town of Alamogordo, NM. While growing up in a small town Justin always dreamed of becoming successful in a big city such as Dallas. After graduating high school Justin decided to join the Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management program at New Mexico State University.
Justin began his education with a focus in hotels while at NMSU, but soon realized his passion for food and beverage. Looking to get the best of both worlds Justin repositioned his focus towards the full service hotel industry. Justin’s first hotel property was the award winning JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country where he was a food and beverage intern. After his internship Justin new that food and beverage was his calling. He returned to New Mexico and worked at several area restaurants while completing his degree. In December of 2014 Justin graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management with minors in Business Administration and Marketing.
Justin was recruited by Marriott International to be in the Voyager, Manager Training Program. This program took Justin back to San Antonio to be a member of the food and beverage leadership team at the Marriott Rivercenter & Riverwalk hotels. Justin was able to take charge of the bar at each of these properties and motivate the staff into becoming a highly passionate team with a fully branded Bourbon program.
Currently, Justin is the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at the Dallas Renaissance. He is excited to bring his passion for innovation along with his knowledge of barrel aged flavors to the Asador team.
